I have been diving since 1997, and immediately began photographing underwater as a way to share the aquatic environment and all of its beauty. I am always amazed by the colors and diversity of aquatic life and environments. Although trained as a molecular biologist, marine biology has been a lifelong interest started through exploring the tide pools in California as a kid, and of course diving was a natural extension of this interest. Photography gives me a reason to 'look closely' while diving, as there is always something unique or special that I have never seen before.
My photos encompass macro, extreme macro, wide angle reefs, and black-and-white.
